Having peace in the storms.
'I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.”' John 16:33 ESV
It is no secret that we all have tribulations (storms) during our lives. These storms of ours can last for a day, or could last for months or years. During storms we can become discouraged, frustrated, or angry. We could even have doubts. It is ok to have those emotions. However, if you are always discouraged, frustrated, angry or in doubt, it may be time to start focusing on the person who can help. That person being Jesus, the One who gives us peace and who overcame the world.
Why? Because He cares about you.
'casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you. ' 1 Peter 5:7 ESV
As we focus and grow in our relationship with Jesus, we should start feeling His peace comfort us, including during our storms. It is also important to remember while going through storms we should rejoice. Storms are needed sometimes to help build us up.
' Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. ' James 1:2-3 ESV

'Then the angel spoke to the women. “Don’t be afraid!” he said. “I know you are looking for Jesus, who was crucified. He isn’t here! He is risen from the dead, just as he said would happen. Come, see where his body was lying. '
Matthew 28:5-6 NLT
Today we recognize and celebrate the resurrection of Jesus! Something that happened over 2,000 years ago that still impacts us today. It's His resurrection that provides us eternal life (John 3:16). It also shows how much God loves us.
'but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. '
Romans 5:8 ESV
As you go throughout your day, reflect not only on God's love for us, but the eternal life we have through Him.

Everyone has something or someplace that they find peaceful. For me, sometimes it's at the lake, watching a sunset on the side of the road, or listening to and seeing a thunderstorm. For some it could be watching a show, listening to a podcast, listening to music, reading a book. We need these peaceful places and things, because in this world, we will have troubles.
... “In this world you will have trouble." ...
John 16:33 ESV
Trouble for each person, may have a different meaning. Trouble today could be a medical issue, and tomorrow it could be an issue with work. Regardless of what that trouble may be, know that there is a way to have peace through it. There is a place where we can find and have peace at all times, Jesus gives us that peace.
"Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid."
John 14:27 ESV
We just need to seek Him out each day and spend time with Him.
Do I seek out Jesus and His peace daily? What is something I need Jesus' peace for today?
